Hunter’s first touchdown!!

Just want to start this post with how we are so very proud of Hunter and all his efforts as the only starting sophomore on Bradford’s Varsity team!!

Tonight was Bradford’s first home game against Oak Creek.  Both teams went into the game 3-0.  The game was played at Art Keller Field, Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. It was an amazing game and I got some fabulous footage and photos!  Bradford is now 4-0 and walked off the field with a score of 34-6!

Hunter (offensive right tackle) recovered a fumble and made his first touchdown!  I was filming in the end zone and didn’t realize that Hunter was the one who made the touchdown until another photographer said “Corrigan made the touchdown” and showed me his photo of it!  What I also didn’t realize is that as I was filming this play, WTMJ 4 News (Milwaukee, WI) was also filming!!

When we got home from the game, my mom called me to tell me that Hunter was on the news!!  We got online and found the clip!

WTMJ’s “Friday Football Frenzy” airs every Friday during the 10:00 news.  About 24 seconds into this clip, you’ll hear the announcer bring up the “Monster Matchup”, which was undefeated Bradford and Oak Creek.  He recaps the play and then says “…and Lineman Hunter Corrigan, you have your first touchdown, Congratulations!!”

Can’t tell you exactly what that felt like, to see my son on the news…this is the same boy that started reading the sports page at age 5 and would share the sports recap with his dad at the dinner table each night.  It is a blessing to watch him grow up and be a part of the game that he loves so much.

All I can say is that we are so proud of him, the team and are excited for the rest of the season.
